The “Italiano” piece is a seemingly random pattern that has much more artistic implications than what can be seen in photographs. our artisan balance layer upon layer of looping, squiggling grind patterns at various angles and with multiple textures. Each layer requires an element of geometric attention for balance as well as angular attention to ensure the desired 3-dimensional effect is achieved. When the viewer sees the piece on the wall with appropriate lighting, the not-so-random grind pattern appears to leap off the stainless steel panel and create a web of infinite depth. The most common reaction is for the viewer of this unexpected masterpiece is to slowly approach the panel in awe, and as their nose closes in to mere inches from the artwork they extend a hand to touch, still not certain if their fingertips will be met with a cool metallic surface or will pass right through and tangle into an otherworldly web. Photographs simply cannot do justice to this abstract metal spectacle.
