“Tantalum is one of the almost hypnotic designs done by our artisan, now crafted in pure, natural copper. The masterful use of simple lines to create an incredible finished product is absolutely breathtaking. One of the comments that is often made about this piece is that the viewer cannot quite tell whether the lines are bursting from the center, or moving from the outside inward. Many have even felt like they are being pulled and drawn into the artwork, becoming lost in the starburst image.
Our artisan are well known for their perfectionism, and this piece is further evidence of the fact. His dedication and attention to detail is unmatched by any metal artist in the industry. As you study this work, you can just imagine the time, attention and control that he took to bring each line from the focal point and manually approach the edge, time and time again, with such flawless precision. While mistakes can easily be erased when sketching with a pencil, the same cannot be said of hand-ground metal. Each movement has to be perfect the first time.
